We independently research, collect and archive RA (Royal Academy of Arts, London) themed postcards, focussing on used examples from the early 1900s, but also encompassing later periods. Often published independently of the RA, they combine into a multifaceted example of the amplification of an art landmark and its associated art and artists, by way of the general public socially sharing personal news and opinion in short texts. Foreshadowing the digital age.
